All registered players are bestowed the honor of membership in the wondrous and mystic Krewe of Pétanque. The traditions of the Krewe are closely held, but it is well-known that each year’s King Carreau and Queen Fanny are selected from those krewe members in attendance. We hope you will join us to celebrate their kind and benevolent reign.
The 2026 Mardi Gras Open will feature an entire WEEKEND of pétanque and revelry. The fun starts Friday February 13, 2026 with social play and other festivities, and keeps rolling along through the two-day tournament on Saturday and Sunday, followed by local Mardi Gras parades.

Kick off the Mardi Gras Open weekend with an unforgettable pétanque experience led by legendary champion Marco Foyot.
On Friday, February 13, 2026 (the day before the Mardi Gras Open), Marco will host intimate two-hour training sessions ($50 per person) designed to sharpen your skills and elevate your confidence when you step into the circle. Instruction will be given in both French and English (an added bonus for those fluent in one and trying to improve the other).
This clinic goes beyond the skill drills and technical demonstration often featured in pre-tournament workshops. With group sizes limited to six players, expect focused instruction, hands-on guidance, and personalized coaching through live-game strategy — just in time for the tournament rounds to follow over the weekend.
Each session will be tailored to the group’s skill level and interests - whether you need to tune up your pointing, dial in your shooting, or explore deeper strategy of elite-level play. Marco will help newer players focus on fundamentals, while advanced competitors can refine tactics suited for competitive tournament play. It’s the ideal way to blend top-tier training with the excitement of Mardi Gras—arrive ready, energized, and strategically primed for a weekend of competition, camaraderie, and celebration.
